Park Bank, based in Holmen, Wis., opened a branch Tuesday at 145 N. Water St. in Sparta, Wis. The building previously housed a State Bank Sparta branch. La Crosse-based State Bank Financial recently moved its State Bank Sparta operations to the former Acuity Bank building at 203 W. Wisconsin St. in Sparta.

Doug Farmer, executive vice president of Park Bank, said his bank bought the Sparta building. “I think the future is good for Sparta,” he said. “I’ve always liked Sparta. When the opportunity arose, it didn’t take a lot of thought.”

The new branch bank is headed by Vice President Kristy Theirl. Lobby hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drive-up hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The phone number is (608) 269-2265. Park Bank’s Web site is www.parkbankplace.com.
